Edo 2020: Presidency Accepts Ize-Iyamu Is Corrupt – PDP

  The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the presidency statement on its condemnation of the visit of Osagie Ize-Iyamu to President Muhammadu Buhari is an acceptance that the APC candidate is corrupt. Naija News  reports that  Buhari had on Friday endorsed Ize-Iyamu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Edo State Governorship election . Following the endorsement at the Presidential Villa, the  PDP had condemned Buhari  for backing a candidate that his administration is probing for corruption.

GROUP MOVE AGAINST THE POOR STATE OF SITUATION IN LAGOS STATE

A movement tagged " Iya Yi to L’eko movement"   have move against the poor  economic status and other environmental issues in Lagos State.  According to the group  'Lagos state is currently seemingly directionless in terms of infrastructure development with the state of the drainage system leaving a lot to be desired. It's a case of consistent flooding which has obviously effectively crippled the free flow of human and vehicular movement within and around the state. What is readily discernible is an array of fast decaying infrastructure, filthy environment, unbridled traffic gridlock and heavily polluted atmosphere. " Living in Lagos is now like living in hell. They also commented that "You cannot have a clear vision and also have cataract at the same time" Lagos is suffering from cataract in both eyes which has to be taken out before we can have a clear vision."

Manchester City have completed the signing of Bournemouth defender, Nathan Ake in a £41m deal.    The Holland international, 25, who has since undergone a medical and penned a five-year contract, completed the move on Wednesday, August 5.    'City have been the best side in England over the course of the last decade,' Ake said on his move.    'Coming here is a dream for me. This is a top side full of world-class players. Everywhere you look in this squad there are big names with international pedigree.   

Two arrested for alleged dollar fraud in Ogun

The Ogun state police command has arrested two suspects in connection to an alleged fake dollar fraud in Ota area of the state.   The suspects identified as Chika Kasarachi and Ifeanyi Okechuckwu, were arrested following a complaint lodged by one Omeh Chidebere Ishoke at Sango police station.   Recalling how he was lured to the suspect's hideout at Koleosho Street Anisere Sango-Ota, Ishoke said they collected the sum of N148,000 from him under the pretence of changing the money to dollar, for him to make a huge profit  

Lord's Chosen pastor allegedly impregnated two underaged sisters then asks the older one to keep the baby so that he can marry her

A minister in the Lord's Chosen Church has been accused of raping two underaged sisters for years and finally impregnating them under the guise of casting out badluck from them.   Pastor Nduka Anyanwu, who ministers in the Lord's Chosen Church, Canaan Land branch in Oshodi, allegedly impregnated the sisters aged 17 and 13.

FG raises hate speech fine from N500,000 to N5m

A review of the sixth Broadcasting Code of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) which raised the fine for hate speech from N500,000 to N5 million, has been launched by the federal government.    Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, who unveiled the document at an event in Lagos on Tuesday August 4, said the code was reviewed in line with the directive of the President for an inquiry into the regulatory role of the NBC in the wake of the 2019 general elections.

President Buhari to overhaul the nation's security apparatus

Babagana Monguno, the national security adviser has disclosed that President Buhari has initiated plans to overhaul the nation's security apparatus.    Monguno disclosed this on Tuesday August 4, after a security meeting at the state house. The NSA revealed that Buhari told the service chiefs that Nigerians have lost confidence in the security sector and he is determined to restore that confidence.   He further affirmed that the issues have been identified to be operational and the minister of defence, Bashir Magashi “is working on something” that will likely give a new direction to the security agencies in the days to come.
